Hummus is personal. If this hummus offends you, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised – after all, like I said, it’s personal. There are as many ways to make hummus as there are to… *I’m not going to say “skin a cat” here, because this is a vegan blog, but you catch my drift. Anywho, yes, you can soak garbanzos with baking soda and boil them and remove skins and yes you can drizzle-oil-in as you emulsify in your super fancy food processor… but that’s not what we’re here to make today. Today, I’m showing you the easiest way to whip up a creamy, cloud like, crowd-pleasing hummus in 5 minutes or less. Sound good? Good. Let’s hop to it.

Prep Time5 mins

Hummus Ingredients
 15 oz can chickpeas, drained (reserve your aquafaba!)
  cup aquafaba (from your canned chickpeas)
 ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil - or avocado oil
 ½ lemon, juiced
 ¼ cup tahini
 1 cloves garlic - this is optional, only add if you're a fan of garlic hummus!
 1 tsp ground cumin
 ½ tsp salt
Optional Toppings
 za'atar
 sumac
 chili lime salt
 chili oil
 extra virgin olive oil
 fresh herbs (parsley/chives/dill/cilantro...)

Add all of your ingredients to your blender/food processor and blend on high for 30 seconds to 1 minutes.

Taste for seasoning and adjust as needed.

Spoon into a bowl, garnish with your optional toppings, and serve!
